The application has been enhanced with a new hypertext function that enables users to directly translate words selected in a dictionary entry. An intuitive, easy-to-use word translation application, ABBYY Lingvo Dictionaries for Android version 2.0 enables users to not only translate words and phrases using ABBYY Lingvo Dictionaries for Android’s powerful word search capabilities, but get instant translation of any word found in the dictionary entry with just a single tap. This simplifies the word lookup process, and helps users better understand the dictionary entry and meaning of unfamiliar words.

In addition to the release of the updated version of ABBYY Lingvo Dictionaries for Android, the company is offering a 50 percent discount on the Universal Dictionaries, through April 3. The Universal Dictionaries come in both bilingual (from English to German, French, Spanish and Italian, and back) and English-only versions, and contain comprehensive, up-to-date vocabulary covering a wide range of subjects. Delivering expanded sets of words and phrases, the Universal Dictionaries make comprehension of, and communicating on, a broad range of topics simpler for people learning a new language, or traveling in a foreign country. Marked with a “Sale” label in the application’s dictionary list, the Universal Dictionaries are available for in-app purchase.
ABBYY Lingvo Dictionaries version 2.0 can be easily installed and managed from any Android device, and users are given the option to remove and restore dictionaries as needed, without an additional charge. Additionally, the audio files are provided separately from the general content in order to save memory on the end users mobile device, and can be deleted and restored as well.

Lingvo Dictionaries for Android are available for purchase via Google Play (formerly the Android Market). The application supports both English and Russian interface languages.
